B.C. Liberals fail to block progress on ride-hailing services for British Columbians

VICTORIA – Earlier today, the B.C. Liberals tried to block an important step towards bringing a fair, made-in-B.C. ride-hailing system for British Columbians.

Although New Democrat and Green MLAs both supported a motion to investigate ride-hailing services at a legislative committee, the B.C. Liberals voted against it.

The motion passed.

Quote:

“It seems the B.C. Liberals care more about the politics of ride-hailing than about bringing in a fair, made-in-B.C. ride-hailing system for British Columbians. After years of games and empty promises on ride-hailing, it’s time to do the real work needed to bring these services to B.C. in a way that protects jobs that already exist, protects workers, ensures safety for passengers, and delivers the modern transportation services people expect.”
