NORTH VANCOUVER – New Democrat MLA Bowinn Ma is welcoming $12,000 through the province’s Community Resilience through Arts and Culture Grants which will support the Hollyburn Family Services Society with a $12,000 grant.

“North Vancouver’s arts organizations play an integral role not only in our creative sectors, but also in nurturing space for healing and resilience,” said Ma. “Equipped with provincial funding, artists and organizations throughout our community will continue to shape important conversations throughout the North Shore.”

The Community Resilience Through Arts and Culture program funds projects that use the restorative power of art and culture to inspire community engagement and to bring healing in response to environmental, social and economic hardships. Now in its second year, the program is distributing 83 grants to communities across the province.

MLA Ma said the New Democrat government is committed to enhancing opportunities for British Columbians to succeed in their creative careers, to supporting cultural revitalization and healing within Indigenous communities, and to increasing equity and access so that all people in British Columbia can participate in the arts and celebrate culture.
