PORT MOODY – New Democrat MLA Rick Glumac is welcoming $483,410 in funding for arts, culture and sport not-for-profit organizations through the Community Gaming Grants program. 17 local organizations are receiving funding including the DreamRider Productions Society and Port Moody Soccer Club.

“Port Moody is well known for our flourishing arts and culture scene and it’s through funding streams like the community gaming grants that we are able to increase our programming for children, families, and seniors,” said Rick Glumac, MLA for Port Moody-Coquitlam. “We know community organizations provide both social and physical benefits, which is why I’m proud to be part of a government committed to supporting local arts, culture and sport programs in the city.”

Over 700 not-for-profit organizations around the province are receiving approximately $18 million to deliver performing arts, literature, heritage and cultural programs for people of all ages.

The Province is also providing approximately $27.5 million to more than 850 sport sector organizations in 2018-19. These programs create opportunities for people who would not otherwise be able to participate and who can benefit from organized, competitive physical activities in their community.

The Community Gaming Grants program provides up to $140 million to about 5,000 not-for-profit organizations in British Columbia each year.
