MLA Leonard welcomes funding for Mt. Washington Ski Club in Courtenay

COURTENAY – New Democrat MLA Ronna-Rae Leonard is welcoming $30,000 in capital project funding to support the replacement of a passenger vehicle for the Mt. Washington Ski Club. Mt. Washington Ski Club is one of 63 community organizations benefitting from the capital project grant which funds upgrades to community facilities, infrastructure, and equipment.

“The Mt. Washington Ski Club helps people develop a passion for skiing while making friends,” said Leonard, MLA for Courtenay-Comox. “This funding will allow them to replace their vehicle so people can continue to have access to their high quality and affordable ski programs.”

In 2019-20, the Province is providing $5 million in capital project grants for organizations to buy and upgrade community facilities, infrastructure and equipment.

The capital projects program is part of the annual $140 million Community Gaming Grants program supporting about 5,000 community organizations that deliver arts and culture, sport, environment, public safety, human and social services and parent advisory councils.
