Powell River – New Democrat leader Adrian Dix and Powell River–Sunshine Coast MLA-elect Nicholas Simons issued the following statement on the passing of former MLA and councillor Harold Long

“We, and the entire New Democrat caucus, are deeply saddened by the death of Harold Long.

“Mr. Long, who served the Sunshine Coast in public office at both the municipal and provincial level, was deeply respected by the communities he represented, and his colleagues from all political parties.

“He will be remembered for his generosity, love of life and community, and will be deeply missed not only by the residents of Powell River, but people across the province who got to know him as both a public figure and successful entrepreneur.

“On behalf of the New Democrat caucus, we extend our condolences to Mr. Long’s immediate and extended family, and friends.”
