Local MLA Rick Glumac welcomes new capital project funding in Port Moody

PORT MOODY – New Democrat MLA Rick Glumac is welcoming $25,000 in capital project funding to support the purchase of specialized film equipment for the DreamRider Productions Society. The DreamRider Productions Society is one of 55 community organizations benefitting from the capital project grant which funds upgrades to community facilities, infrastructure, and equipment.

“DreamRider is a fantastic organization working to engage young people on important social and environmental issues,” said Glumac. “I look forward to seeing how this investment in specialized equipment allows the organization to create even more creative and educational content for children in Port Moody and across the Lower Mainland.”

In 2018-19, the Province is providing $5 million in capital project grants, supporting not-for-profit organizations that deliver important community services like search and rescue, mobile health and child care.

The Capital Projects program is part of the annual $140 million Community Gaming Grants program supporting over 5,000 community organizations that deliver arts and culture, sport, environment, public safety, human and social services and parent advisory councils.
