B.C. New Democrat leader Adrian Dix calls on all B.C. MPs to oppose Coast Guard cuts

VANCOUVER – B.C. New Democrat leader Adrian Dix has written to all 36 of B.C.’s Members of Parliament, urging them to press for Prime Minister Harper and the federal cabinet to reconsider cuts to the Coast Guard in British Columbia.

Dix called on MPs to put aside partisanship and represent B.C.’s interests in Ottawa.

“This is an issue where British Columbians expect us to speak out not for partisan interests but rather as New Democrats, Conservatives, Liberals and Greens who represent B.C.’s interests,” said Dix.

Dix wrote to Premier Clark on May 27, proposing united action by provincial New Democrats and Liberals to oppose the cuts.
