DELTA – BC NDP MLA Ravi Kahlon say grants for local not-for-profit organizations will support sports organizations so that people can stay active and healthy in Delta.
“Local sports organizations like the North Delta Football Club connect our community and encourage a healthy lifestyle,” says Ravi Kahlon, MLA for Delta North. “This funding will continue to support the great opportunities for people of all ages in Delta to get involved in sports and have fun.”
$865,000 in funding for 22 organizations in Delta is part of the $25 million in Community Gaming Grants that will be shared among 736 organizations that deliver sports programs or services across BC that will improve the quality of life in their communities.
Some of the organizations receiving funding in Delta include:
- $92,000 for North Delta Football Club
- $40,000 for British Columbia Ball Hockey Association
- $42,000 for Delta Sungod Swim Club
The Community Gaming Grants Program distributes up to $140 million worth of grants annually to not-for-profit organizations across British Columbia that improve and enrich the lives of people and communities. These include sports, arts, environmental, quality of life, and health and safety organizations. These grants help approximately 5,000 organizations to deliver ongoing programs and services in their communities.
