NEW WESTMINSTER – BC NDP MLA Jennifer Whiteside says capital project grants for local non-profit organizations will support family and community services in New Westminster.
“These organizations offer so much to people in our community. Family Place helps make the heart of New Westminster beat, providing a lifeline for many families,” said Jennifer Whiteside, MLA for New Westminster–Coquitlam. “This funding will help grow their programs and reach even more people with the support and care they provide.”
In New Westminster, the following organizations are receiving funding:
- New Westminster Family Place Society – $50,000 for the new Uptown Family Hub that will feature a child-friendly design with safe washrooms, stroller access, and flexible multi-purpose areas for play, parent education, and community connection.
- North Fraser Metis Association – $35,000 to acquire a used refrigerated delivery van to expand access to fresh, healthy food for our Indigenous and underserved community members.
Across B.C., 39 non-profit organizations are receiving a total of $5.1 million for capital projects through the Community Gaming Grants program.
In total, more that $138 million will be distributed through all streams of the Community Gaming Grant program for the 2025/26, helping to ensure funding reaches organizations that build connected, inclusive and resilient communities.
