PRINCE RUPERT– New Democrat MLA Jennifer Rice is welcoming $121,000 in capital project funding for the Prince Rupert Search and Rescue Society, which will go toward the purchase of a command centre truck for the organization. The Prince Rupert Search and Rescue Society is one of 63 community organizations benefitting from the capital project grant which funds upgrades to community facilities, infrastructure, and equipment.
“I’d like to congratulate the Prince Rupert Search and Rescue Society on this grant, and thank them for their continued service to our community,” said Rice. “Support going to this organization benefits all of us.”
In 2019-20, the Province is providing $5 million in capital project grants for organizations to buy and upgrade community facilities, infrastructure and equipment.
The capital projects program is part of the annual $140 million Community Gaming Grants program supporting about 5,000 community organizations that deliver arts and culture, sport, environment, public safety, human and social services and parent advisory councils.
