ROBERTS CREEK– New Democrat MLA Nicholas Simons is welcoming $60,000 in capital project funding for the Roberts Creek Community Association to support a roof replacement for the Roberts Creek Community Hall. The association is one of 63 community organizations benefitting from the capital project grant which funds upgrades to community facilities, infrastructure, and equipment.
The Roberts Creek Community Hall is a community hub that brings people together in so many different ways- from weddings to funerals, concerts and dances, to political meetings,” said Simons. “This grant for a new roof will help keep the Hall safe and comfortable for years to come.”
In 2019-20, the Province is providing $5 million in capital project grants for organizations to buy and upgrade community facilities, infrastructure and equipment.
The capital projects program is part of the annual $140 million Community Gaming Grants program supporting about 5,000 community organizations that deliver arts and culture, sport, environment, public safety, human and social services and parent advisory councils.
