MAPLE RIDGE – New Democrat MLA Lisa Beare is welcoming the announcement of 49 new homes for middle-income individuals and families in Maple Ridge.
“These new units will mean more working people and their families can find a place to call home in Maple Ridge,” said the MLA for Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows. “Affordable housing has been a priority for our government since day one, and I’m proud that we are continuing to invest in the housing that people need.”
Construction is now underway on the project located at 22265 Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge, and the building is expected to be completed by February 2022. Monthly rents are projected to range from approximately $1,650 for a studio to $2,200 for a three-bedroom.
The provincial government, through the BC HousingHub, is providing interim construction financing of approximately $19.4 million. Johnston Meier Insurance Group Real Estate Division provided the land.
This project is part of the more than 23,000 new homes that are complete or underway around the province, including 9,750 in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser regions, as part of the Government of B.C.’s Homes for B.C. housing plan.
