LADYSMITH – NDP MLA Doug Routley says a community grant for a not-for-profit in Ladysmith will help the organization to renovate their facility in order to improve their services for people.

“Families have been coming to the Ladysmith Maritime Society since 1991 to enjoy all they have to offer,” said Doug Routley, MLA for Nanaimo-North Cowichan. “This funding will help replace the main visitor dock and ensure families can continue to enjoy activities here for years to come.”

The Community Gaming Grants program is providing $5.3 million to 49 not-for-profits that will allow them to make improvements so that they can keep on delivering services to people.

The Ladysmith Maritime Society will be receiving $182,437 for replacement of the visitor dock.

This funding is part of the $140 million distributed annually to not-for-profit organizations that deliver services and make life better for people throughout British Columbia.
