VICTORIA – New Democrat MLA Grace Lore is recognizing The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness for their work supporting crime prevention and community safety, with a focus on transformative Indigenous-led approaches.
“The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness does incredible work that provides care and changes lives in our community,” said Grace Lore, MLA for Victoria-Beacon Hill. “They are changing how we think about housing supports, harm reduction, and reconciliation, and this Safe Communities Award for their important work is so well-deserved.”
The awards acknowledge individuals, non-profit organizations and justice and community partners for their work in advancing crime prevention, restorative justice, support for vulnerable people and other initiatives that keep our communities safer. These efforts support provincial initiatives in crime prevention, victim services and policing.
The Community Safety and Crime Prevention Award was presented to The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness in Greater Victoria. Other recipients of the award were:

- Lovepreet Brar, Surrey, Family Liaison Victim Services Manager, RCMP Integrated Homicide Investigation Team
- Mary Brown, Heiltsuk Nation, Program Director, Heiltsuk Gvi’las Restorative Justice Program
- Sk’ai Zeh Yah Youth Centre, Prince George
