RICHMOND – New Democrat MLA Kelly Greene says the new addition at R.C. Talmey Elementary will be open for the start of school in September, creating 150 new students seats for the growing area.
“The addition at R.C. Talmey means more students can learn in modern and safe environments right in their own neighbourhood,” said Kelly Greene, MLA for Richmond-Steveston. “Our government’s historic investments in education are having a real impact, and I’m excited to see students and communities in Richmond already experiencing the benefits.”
R.C. Talmey is one of several school announcements being made today, together representing over 3,000 new spaces opening across the province this Fall.
Since 2017, the Province has committed over $6 billion in school capital projects, creating nearly 43,000 new student spaces and over 39,000 seismically safe seats in B.C. schools. As the province grows, we remain committed to working with both school districts and municipalities to provide all students with safe, modern and inspiring places to learn.
