VICTORIA – New Democrat MLA Murray Rankin says that Capital Grants through the Community Gaming Grants (CGG) program will help the Campus View Elementary PAC replace the existing playground with better one for students to enjoy.
“Students learn how to share and resolve conflicts on playgrounds, all while getting needed exercise. That’s why students at Campus View deserve to play on modern equipment,” said Murray Rankin, MLA for Oak Bay-Gordon Head. “I am excited to know that the PAC will now be able to replace the existing playground with a safer and enhanced one.”
The Capital Grants stream of the CGG supports not-for-profits and other community organizations to purchase, build, upgrade, or expand infrastructure that allows them to continue providing services or meet growing demand. In Oak Bay-Gordon Head, this investment of almost $80,000, will support replacement of the existing playground at Campus View Elementary that was showing significant wear, with a new and safer playground.
The Capital Grants stream is providing over $5 million to 45 organizations across British Columbia for the 2021/22 fiscal year.
The capital projects program is part of the annual $140-million Community Gaming Grants program supporting about 5,000 community organizations that deliver arts and culture, sport, environment, public safety, human and social services, and parent advisory councils
