VICTORIA – New Democrat health critic Judy Darcy is calling for a summary of the findings of the Fraser Health review to be released to the public.

“Fraser Health patients, their families, and staff on the front-lines of health care deserve to know the findings of the Fraser Health Authority review and to learn just how these findings are going to improve health care and patient experiences in the region,” said Darcy.

“It’s concerning to learn that contrary to what the public believed, both the health minister and the new leadership of the Fraser Health Authority have now stated that they have absolutely no intention of releasing the report.”

Darcy was responding to comments made by the Interim Board Chair for the Fraser Health Authority that the findings were too complex to be released publicly.

Darcy added that the review of Fraser Health was announced after a long period of chaos, marked by increasing patient wait times in emergency rooms, inadequate staffing levels, and cases of unacceptable patient discharges.
