VICTORIA – New Democrat MLAs officially welcomed Joe Trasolini into caucus Wednesday morning, as he was sworn in as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Port Moody – Coquitlam. Trasolini was joined by Gwen O’Mahony, who was sworn in as the MLA for Chilliwack – Hope.
“I am ready to get down to the work of representing the people my constituency. It is a great honour and I look forward to the opportunity to make a difference on the issues that matter,” said Trasolini. “The people of this riding have been unrepresented in the legislature for too long. I commit to being an MLA who will stand up for things like affordability, the environment, and post-secondary education.”
Trasolini has spent the past few weeks in Victoria while the legislature has been in session, and at home in Port Moody-Coquitlam, working on local issues.
“I look forward to contributing in a positive way to this strong and committed team of New Democrats,” said Trasolini. “And I will be working hard to bring forward the voices of the people I represent.”
Trasolini will be opening an office in the constituency soon.
Trasolini and O’Mahony join Adrian Dix and B.C.’s New Democrats in working for positive change now, while holding the B.C. Liberal government to account.
