About George
George Anderson was first elected as the MLA for Nanaimo-Lantzville in 2024.
George was appointed the Parliamentary Secretary for Transit in November 2024. He also serves as Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Whole.
Before being elected to the legislature, George worked as an established commercial lawyer at one of Canada’s largest firms. In addition, he served as a City Councillor and Regional District Director in Nanaimo.
He has served as Chair of the Board of Governors at Vancouver Island University, President of Literacy Central Vancouver Island, and volunteered with the Canadian Bar Association’s Access to Justice Committee, the Ontario Justice Education Network, Nanaimo – Ladysmith Public Schools Foundation, and many other organizations dedicated to strengthening the social fabric of our communities.
George is a recipient of the distinction for citizenship from the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, as well as the BC Achievement Award in 2016 presented by the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia
