About George
George Anderson was first elected as the MLA for Nanaimo-Lantzville in 2024.
George was appointed the Parliamentary Secretary for Transit in November 2024. He also serves as Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Whole.
Before being elected to the legislature, George worked as an established commercial lawyer at one of Canada’s largest firms. In addition, he served as a City Councillor in Nanaimo and as a Director for the Regional District of Nanaimo.
He has served as Chair of the Vancouver Island University Board of Governors, and volunteered with the Canadian Bar Association’s Access to Justice Committee, Literacy Central Vancouver Island, the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public Schools Foundation, among other organizations dedicated to making his community stronger.
George is a recipient of the distinction for citizenship from the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, as well as a BC Achievement Award in 2016.
