Delta North MLA Ravi Kahlon says it stinks that more taxpayers’ money is being sunk into a road that was built over a garbage dump by the former BC Liberal government.
The Vancouver Sun reported today that ‘garbage bumps’ on a section of Highway 17 resulting from the deteriorating road are causing a hazard for motorists, forcing the BC Ministry of Transportation to spend millions on repairs over the next five years.
The ministry is paying to grind down these garbage bumps on the South Fraser Perimeter Road, which was built a mere six years ago.
BC NDP MLA Ravi Kahlon:
“It’s disappointing to see BC Liberal mismanagement result in public money being thrown in the trash. It seems that every day, we dig up more about how Andrew Wilkinson and the BC Liberals gave British Columbians a rough ride.”
