VICTORIA – New Democrat MLA Bowinn Ma is welcoming new child care funding for the North Shore Neighbourhood House in North Vancouver, as part of the B.C. government’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) agreement with the Government of Canada.

“For too long North Shore families have struggled to find adequate child care for children with extra support needs,” said Bowinn Ma, MLA North Vancouver-Lonsdale. “This investment in children will go a long way in ensuring North Shore families have access to the quality care they require and is part of our government’s commitment to delivering on affordable, quality child care for B.C. families.”

The North Shore Neighbourhood House is just one of the 83 organizations across the province that will be sharing $30 million in funding. The funding which will be allotted over the next three years is aimed at expanding and enhancing the province’s Supported Child Development and Aboriginal Supported Child Development programs for families with extra support needs.
