MAPLE RIDGE – New Democrat MLAs Bob D’Eith and Lisa Beare are welcoming new child care funding for The Ridge Meadows Association for Community Living, as a part of the B.C. government’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) agreement with the Government of Canada.

“As a parent with a young child I understand the difficulties families are facing. Every parent wants the best possible care for their child, and this investment will help make that a reality,” said MLA for Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows, Lisa Beare. “I’m glad our New Democrat government is delivering on inclusive, affordable care.”

“Children with special needs often require extra support to reach their fullest potential,” said MLA for Maple Ridge-Mission Bob D’Eith. “This announcement is a part of our commitment to deliver on child care that works for every family in B.C.”

The Ridge Meadows Association for Community Living is one of 83 organizations across the province that will be sharing $30 million in funding over the next three years to expand and enhance their Supported Child Development and Aboriginal Supported Child Development programming for families with children with extra support needs.
