MISSION – New Democrat MLA for Maple Ridge-Mission Bob D’Eith is welcoming $588,050 in funding for 14 organizations for arts, culture and sport across Mission through the Community Gaming Grants program.

“Local art, culture, and sport are at the heart of the community. These organizations make Mission what it is,” said D’Eith. “I’m glad to see so many grant recipients here in our community.”

Recipients of the community grant funding include the Mission Minor Hockey Association and the Mission Folk Music Festival Society.

Over 700 not-for-profit organizations around the province are receiving approximately $18 million to deliver performing arts, literature, heritage and cultural programs for people of all ages.

The Province is also providing approximately $27.5 million to more than 850 sport sector organizations in 2018-19. These programs create opportunities for people who would not otherwise be able to participate and who can benefit from organized, competitive physical activities in their community.

The Community Gaming Grants program provides up to $140 million to about 5,000 not-for-profit organizations in British Columbia each year.
