NAKUSP– New Democrat MLA says funding for (a) local airport(s) will help ensure a better experience for people and businesses who rely on the airport.
“It’s so important that people in remote communities like Nakusp have safe and accessible air transportation,” said Katrine Conroy, MLA for Kootenay West. “I am glad to see this funding for Nakusp airport and many others across the province.”
The Nakusp Airport is receiving $25,000 from the B.C. Air Access Program for an airport master plan.
Across the province, the BCAAP will support 40 projects at 29 air facilities, improving safety, security, and passenger facilities. Projects include runway extensions, improved runway lighting, pavement improvements, terminal enhancements, and better fire protection.
Since its launch in 2015, the BCAAP grant program has committed $66.8 million to infrastructure projects at 71 air facilities.
