NEW WESTMINSTER – New Democrat MLAs Jennifer Whiteside and Aman Singh are welcoming provincial funding, part of B.C.’s Economic Recovery Plan, for active transportation infrastructure to better connect New West and Queensborough, create a more accessible community, and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“Helping people and families to get around our community safely and actively is so important, especially during the pandemic,” said Whiteside, MLA for New Westminster. “Active transportation infrastructure to support this is a vital part of building our province back better.
Funding will support improvements to the sidewalks on the Queensborough Bridge
“The Queensborough bridge keeps people in our communities connected,” said Singh, MLA for Richmond-Queensborough. “Making sure all pedestrians can cross safely and efficiently also helps to reduce vehicle congestion and delays.”

By facilitating more clean and sustainable methods of getting around, New Democrats are supporting a healthier, more resilient natural environment.
