VICTORIA – New Democrat MLA Rob Fleming welcomes new child care funding for the Victoria Native Friendship Centre as a part of the B.C. government’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) agreement with the Government of Canada.
“Every parent deserves to have access to quality child care for their children, no matter their individual needs,” said Fleming. “This investment will allow Indigenous children with extra support needs to access specialized and culturally appropriate care in Victoria.”
The Victoria Native Friendship Centre is one of 83 organizations across the province that will be sharing $30 million in funding over the next three years to expand and enhance their Supported Child Development and Aboriginal Supported Child Development programming for families with children with extra support needs.
