About Rohini

Rohini Arora was first elected as the MLA for Burnaby East in 2024. She is the first South Asian woman to be elected as an MLA in Burnaby.

Rohini is Deputy Chair of the BC Government Caucus.

Before being elected to the legislature, Rohini, a trade unionist and a member of United Steelworkers local 2009, served on the National Anti-Racism Committee for two terms as well as serving on both District and Local Human Rights Committees.

Prior to being elected, she worked at the BC Federation of Labour as the Director of Organizing and Campaigns.
