【溫哥華訊】新民主黨省議員周炯華,公布溫哥華─菲沙景區(Vancouver-Fraserview)運輸工作小組報告,提出三項建議改善當地社區公車服務。做為溫哥華─菲沙景區的省議員,周炯華積極參與由社區主導的工作小組,聽取當地居民對運輸服務的需求。 「公共交通是連結我們社區的重要服務項目,不僅為大眾提供可負擔的交通工具,還能協助減緩塞車和降低二氧化碳排放量。」周炯華表示。「許多依賴公共交通的溫哥華─菲沙景居民告訴我,這個社區的大眾運輸應該能獲得更好的服務。這對本地而言是一項重要議題,我十分榮幸能協助籌組這個工作小組,向社區、運輸連線和溫哥華市政府提供研究報告。」 成立於2018年的運輸工作小組共有十九位成員,已經與溫哥華市政府及運輸連線代表會面,舉辦多場活動收集社區意見及網路民意調查結果。透過這些諮詢過程社區表達強烈意願: 南北向公車服務從菲沙河區 (River District) 連結至世博線架空列車站 26號公車路線需要更密集有效率的服務 (Joyce Station/29th Avenue Station) 49號公車路線需要更多友善長者的設施 (Metrotown/UBC) 「身為溫哥華東南區居民超過二十五年,我十分樂見省議員周炯華與社區居民、溫哥華市政府、運輸連線密切合作,找出如何為社區改善交通的方案。這項報告明確指出我們社區現有大眾運輸的不足,建議需要更密集的南北向公車服務,從菲沙地 (Fraserlands)到菲沙河區。」運輸工作小組成員芭芭拉 (Barbara Borchardt) 指出。 溫哥華─菲沙景區是許多長者、家庭和低收入民眾的家園,他們仰賴充份及時的大眾運輸服務。向工作小組提供意見的民眾當中,超過六成每天或是一周多次需要使用公共交通服務。 省議員周炯華將於7月30日舉行開放參觀日,對外公布社區成員遞交的工作小組報告,同時收集更多民眾意見。地點在菲沙河區,這也是溫哥華─菲沙景普遍認為急需要公車服務的地區之一。時間:7月30日傍晚6點至8點,地址:River District Neighbourhood Centre (8683 Kerr Street)。歡迎居住在溫哥華─菲沙景區的居民踴躍參與表達意見。 運輸工作小組報告:georgechowmla.ca/transit 圖說:省議員周炯華積極參與由社區主導的運輸工作小組
